The tables below show the current time in 30+ cities on every continent, the difference from Brasília time and the window where business hours (9:00–18:00) overlap with Brazil. It is the quickest way to schedule a call, a meeting or a flight without getting the time zone wrong.
The Time now column shows each city’s clock at this exact moment. Difference from Brasília says how many hours the city is ahead of or behind Brazil’s official time. Shared business hours shows, in Brasília time, the interval in which 9:00–18:00 on both sides overlap, ideal for scheduling meetings without asking anyone to wake up in the middle of the night.
Values take into account the daylight saving time in force in each place. This matters: the United States, Canada, Europe and other countries move their clocks forward for part of the year, so the difference from Brasília changes by one hour twice a year. Brazil has had no daylight saving time since 2019, so all of the variation comes from the other side.
Tips for each region
Americas: Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are close to Brazilian time, so contact is usually easy. In the US and Canada the gap ranges from one to five hours depending on the zone and time of year.
Europe: Portugal and the UK are three to four hours ahead. European working hours end in mid-afternoon in Brasília, so prefer morning meetings.
Africa and Middle East: the gap varies widely. Egypt and South Africa are five to six hours ahead; Dubai, seven.
Asia and Oceania: the gap exceeds ten hours. Meetings usually require one side to start very early or finish very late. When it is 9:00 in Brasília, it is already evening in Japan and Korea.
What is the time difference between Brasília and New York?
1 hour behind Brasília right now. The US changes its clocks and Brazil does not, so the gap is one hour smaller during US daylight saving time.
What is the time difference between Brasília and London?
3 hours ahead of Brasília right now. It varies between three and four hours during the year.
What is the time difference between Brasília and Tokyo?
12 hours ahead of Brasília. Neither Japan nor Brazil uses daylight saving time, so the gap is fixed all year.
How do I schedule a meeting between countries in different time zones?
Use the shared business-hours column in the table to find the window where 9:00–18:00 overlaps on both sides. When there is no window, alternate the inconvenient time between participants and always confirm the time in both time zones.
